Before Applying

China Medical University Campus

China Medical University does not use any external agents for international student admissions. You cannot apply via any external agent. You can only apply here.

China Medical University welcomes students from all over the world. Entry requirements vary according to the program of study, so it is important that you make sure you are eligible to apply as an International Student.

Our entry requirements abide by the “MOE Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan” and the flowchart of qualification. Read them carefully before you apply.

Violation of any of the above-mentioned regulations will result in immediate cancellation of the applicant’s admission; the deprivation of the applicant’s recognized status as a CMU registered student, or revocation of the applicant’s CMU diploma. No academic certificate will be given.

  • International students with a high school diploma are eligible to apply for undergraduate studies at CMU; Bachelor’s degree for Master’s programs;
    Master’s degree for PhD programs
  • International students transfer to undergraduate programs should apply to attend the Transfer Exams of Spring Semester held by CMU and the Joint Transfer Exam held by the Committee of private medical universities. However, international students whose student status is discontinued by the University because of misconduct, poor academic results or criminal offences, are not allowed to apply for transferring to CMU. Postgraduate students are not allowed to transfer to CMU
  • All undergraduate students except who enroll in the departments other than School of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Chinese Medicine will go to Beigang Campus for the first academic year, and move to Taichung campuses from the second academic year on. Those undergraduate students who enroll in School of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Chinese Medicine will go to Taichung Campuses from the first academic year on. Please refer to the admission guideline for the campus location.
  • Students who enrolled since 2015 Fall Semester and whose high school graduating level is equivalent to Taiwan’s high school grade 5 have to complete at least 12 credits at CMU in addition to each department’s credit requirement before graduation.
  • Undergraduate programs: only accept fall intake and most of the courses are given in Chinese.
    Master and Doctoral programs: accept both fall and spring intakes. All graduate programs provide English courses for international students. All graduate students can find the qualified thesis advisors from any departments or institutes of CMU.
