Shanghai University of TCM observed PBL training at China Medical University

Writer: Laurel Lai Translator: Ashlen Weng PBL training at China Medical University has received significant national and overseas recognition. Shanghai University of TCM assigned their staff to participate in the PBL training held by Chung Shan Medical University and CMU this September. Shanghai University of TCM hoped to learn and experience PBL teaching at CMU by joining advanced PBL training. Dean of Shanghai University of TCM, Jianlin Cha, led 16 professors to CMU on 25th of Sep this year. The meeting was held by Prof. Fung-Chang Sung, Director of Center for International Affairs, and Prof. Chiu-Yin Kwan, Director of Center for Faculty Development. Prof Shung-Te Kao, Dean of College of Chinese Medicine, shared the experience of PBL with the guests. Prof. Kao, together with the professors from Colleges of Medicine and Chinese Medicine, demonstrated how to perform PBL after the meeting, and Prof. Kwan held a discussion to express his views about PBL. Our president, Prof. Jong-Tsun Huang pointed out that both universities could have more academic exchanges and create a win-win situation in the future. The guests from Shanghai University of TCM appreciated what CMU did for them, claimed that they learned a lot from this visit and looked forward to the future cooperation.
