Office of Global Affairs Invites Officers from Taichung City Police Department's Fifth Precinct to Promote International Student Safety

To help international students adapt to life in Taiwan and enhance their legal awareness, self-protection, and personal safety, the Office of Global Affairs held the "International Students' Safety and Crime Prevention Seminar" on June 26, 2026. Officers from the Fifth Precinct of the Taichung City Police Department were invited to deliver a safety awareness session.

The seminar covered a wide range of topics, including daily safety in Taiwan, traffic safety, the prevention of sexual harassment and stalking, and anti-fraud awareness. Through real-life case studies and explanations of relevant laws and regulations, the police officers provided practical guidance to help students better understand safety issues and legal requirements while studying and living in Taiwan.

Throughout the seminar, the officers actively engaged with students through interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and case analyses, creating a lively and engaging learning environment. Students were encouraged to ask questions and share their own experiences, which further strengthened their understanding of traffic safety, fraud prevention, and personal safety, while enhancing their ability to respond appropriately to potential risks.

The Office of Global Affairs will continue to organize student support and safety education activities to help international students successfully adapt to life in Taiwan and foster a friendly, safe, and welcoming campus environment.
