Stay & Work in Taiwan Career Workshop Empowers International Students with Career and Residency Pathways
To support international students and overseas Chinese students in planning their careers in Taiwan after graduation, the Office of Global Affairs recently organized the "Stay & Work in Taiwan Career Workshop". The workshop brought together two key components—Taiwan work regulations, and job matching—to provide students with practical guidance on transitioning from academic life to professional careers in Taiwan.
The workshop attracted students from diverse academic backgrounds who are interested in pursuing employment opportunities in Taiwan after graduation. During the session, participants received comprehensive information on Taiwan's employment regulations for foreign graduates, including work permits, residency pathways, the Points-Based System, and updates on job-seeking visa policies. Students also learned about the procedures and requirements for obtaining legal work authorization and explored various opportunities available to international talent in Taiwan.
In addition to the regulatory briefing, the workshop also introduced the CMU's job matching platform, providing students with guidance on accessing job vacancies, creating professional profiles, and uploading their CVs. By utilizing the platform, students can connect more effectively with prospective employers and improve their career prospects in Taiwan.
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Students particularly appreciated learning about job-seeking visa policies, work permit requirements, and the various pathways available for staying and working in Taiwan after graduation. Many participants shared that the workshop increased their understanding of Taiwan's employment regulations and helped them gain greater confidence in planning their future careers in Taiwan.
Through initiatives such as the Stay & Work in Taiwan Career Workshop, the Office of Global Affairs continues to support international talent development and strengthen career readiness among international students, helping them successfully transition from education to employment in Taiwan.
