Students Develop Practical Time Management Skills Through Interactive Workshop

The Office of Global Affairs recently organized the workshop "Master Your Time — From Procrastination to Professional Accountability," led by Mr. Mark Lin. The workshop provided students with practical strategies to strengthen their time management, productivity, and personal accountability skills.

Designed as an interactive two-hour learning experience, the workshop combined discussions, hands-on activities, and reflective exercises to help participants better understand how they manage their time and responsibilities. Students explored key concepts such as distinguishing between important and urgent tasks, prioritizing responsibilities effectively, and overcoming procrastination through actionable planning techniques.

A highlight of the workshop was the use of LEGO-based activities to help participants identify their core values and reflect on how these values influence their decision-making, goal setting, and allocation of time. Students also learned practical tools including the Mind Sweep method, task prioritization techniques, the Five-Minute Rule, and the "Sausage Slicing" approach for breaking large projects into manageable steps.

Feedback collected after the workshop indicated that participants found the session valuable and relevant to their academic and personal development. Students particularly appreciated learning the distinction between important and urgent tasks, the interactive learning approach throughout the workshop, and the opportunity to explore personal values through the LEGO activity.

By the end of the session, participants had developed greater awareness of their work habits and gained practical strategies for managing competing priorities more effectively. The workshop reflects the Office of Global Affairs' commitment to supporting students' personal growth, global competencies, and lifelong learning skills.
