International Students Showcase Chinese Skills at Chinese Language Competition
The Office of Global Affairs hosted the “Chinese Language Competition for International Students” on 21 May 2026 at the Student Activity Center, Yingcai Campus. The event brought together students from the “Mandarin Small Talk” program of the Center for Bilingual Education and Mandarin courses offered by the Center of General Education.
The competition aimed to encourage international students to strengthen their Chinese communication abilities through practical and interactive activities while fostering a multilingual and inclusive campus environment.
The event featured two competition categories: the Beginner Category – Chinese Singing Contest, and the Advanced Category – Picture Storytelling Contest. Participants demonstrated their Chinese pronunciation, fluency, creativity, and stage presence through songs and storytelling presentations.
In addition to the competitions, the event also provided opportunities for cultural exchange and interaction among students from different countries and academic backgrounds. Teachers, staff members, and fellow students attended the event to support the participants and celebrate their learning achievements.
Many participants shared that the competition allowed them to learn new Chinese vocabulary, improve their confidence in using Chinese, and gain valuable experiences communicating with others in Mandarin. The event also helped students build friendships and deepen their understanding of Taiwanese language and culture.
The Office of Global Affairs expressed appreciation to all participants, judges, teachers, and audience members for their enthusiastic support and looks forward to organizing more language and cultural exchange activities in the future.
