Online Workshops Highlight Updates to Taiwan’s Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals
On April 15 and 16, 2026, a new round of Online Workshops on Taiwan Residency Regulations and Work Permits was successfully held, with sessions conducted in both English and Chinese. Building on previous workshops, this series placed special emphasis on the latest updates to Taiwan’s Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals, which came into effect on January 1, 2026.
Although only a few international students participated in this round of workshops, the sessions provided a focused and interactive environment. Participants gained updated and practical knowledge on regulatory changes and how these developments may benefit their future plans in Taiwan. The workshops highlighted improved opportunities and more flexible conditions for foreign professionals seeking to study, stay, and work in Taiwan.
A key message emphasized throughout the workshops was the importance of Chinese language proficiency. While policy improvements create more opportunities, the ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin remains essential for overcoming language barriers and gaining a competitive advantage in Taiwan’s job market.
We will continue to refine and promote future workshops to reach a wider audience. We hope these sessions have provided valuable insights and practical guidance for all participants, supporting their academic and professional development in Taiwan.
