International Students Explore Wufeng Lin Family and Guangfu New Village, Deepening Understanding of Taiwan’s History and Culture

To enhance international students’ understanding of Taiwan’s history and diverse cultural heritage, the Office of Global Affairs organized the “Wufeng Cultural Experience” on April 8, 2026. The cultural visit included stops at the Wufeng Lin Family Mansion, the Taiwan Provincial Council, and Guangfu New Village, offering participants an opportunity to learn through on-site exploration and peer interaction.

During the visit to the Wufeng Lin Family Mansion, students were introduced to traditional Taiwanese family culture and historical development. At the Legislative Yuan Democracy Park, participants viewed an educational film highlighting Taiwan’s democratic journey and political evolution. The final stop at Guangfu New Village allowed students to experience a former military dependents’ village transformed into a creative community, showcasing local revitalization and multicultural influences.

Throughout the activity, international students engaged with peers from different backgrounds while gaining new insights into Taiwan’s history and culture. Participants reported that the experience fostered meaningful interaction, provided valuable knowledge about Taiwanese society, and offered a deeper appreciation of Taiwan’s democratic development through the featured film. The visit successfully combined cultural learning with social engagement, helping students build connections and strengthen their sense of belonging.

The Office of Global Affairs will continue to organize similar cultural activities to support international students’ integration and promote cross-cultural understanding.
