OGA Hosts Spring 2026 New Student Orientation to Strengthen International Students’ Understanding of Life and Regulations in Taiwan

To assist new students of the Spring 2026 semester in adapting smoothly to life and academic studies in Taiwan, the Office of Global Affairs held a New Student Orientation on March 13, 2026. The orientation covered a wide range of essential information, including government regulations and compliance requirements, as well as the potential penalties for violations. These sessions aimed to help students develop a clear understanding of legal responsibilities and reduce the risk of non-compliance.

In addition, representatives from the National Immigration Agency were invited to provide detailed information on the application process for residence permits, as well as procedures for changing residence status after graduation. This session further strengthened students’ understanding of residency regulations in Taiwan.

The orientation also introduced common infectious diseases in Taiwan and their prevention methods, raising students’ awareness of health management. Furthermore, important aspects of daily life in Taiwan were explained in detail, including residence permit applications, work permit regulations, and the health insurance system. These sessions enabled students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the administrative procedures and essential information required during their studies.

In addition to the presentations, a Q&A and networking session was arranged to provide students with an opportunity to share the challenges they may encounter in their daily lives and academic pursuits in Taiwan. Staff from the Office of Global Affairs responded promptly, offering guidance and support to address students’ concerns, thereby enhancing their understanding of available campus resources and support systems.
