Bridging Faculty and Students: International Student Open House Event

To assist international freshmen in gaining a deeper understanding of the University’s research fields and in identifying suitable academic advisors, the Office of Global Affairs hosted its first Open House event on March 6, 2026. The event featured six professors from diverse disciplines, who introduced their research areas, key academic focuses, and laboratory resources and environments. This provided students with a comprehensive overview of each lab’s unique strengths and development potential.

Through this face-to-face interaction, international freshmen were able not only to gain further insights into current research trends across disciplines, but also to begin establishing connections with potential advisors based on their academic interests and future goals, thereby laying a solid foundation for their future academic development. The event also fostered meaningful engagement and communication between faculty and students, enhancing participants’ overall understanding of the University’s research environment and academic resources.

The Office of Global Affairs will continue to organize similar initiatives in the future to support international students in integrating into the academic community, while providing diverse resources to strengthen their academic and research development at the University.
