Half-Day Exploring Zhongxing New Village Experience Brings Students Delight and Discovery

International students recently joined the Half-Day Exploring Zhongxing New Village Experience, where they immersed themselves in the unique cultural and historical charm of Nantou’s iconic community. The event combined hands-on activities, heritage exploration, and outdoor fun—leaving participants enthusiastic and energized.

One of the highlights was making traditional shaobing (baked flatbread). Students enjoyed the hands-on process, especially stamping their creations with playful seals such as “Governor,” “Minister of Finance,” and other official titles—an activity that sparked plenty of laughter and creativity.

The most popular part of the day, however, was riding the four-wheel bikes. Gliding through the peaceful, tree-lined avenues of Zhongxing New Village offered a rare and memorable experience. The quiet environment and the canopy of tall, leafy trees created the perfect setting for students to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Students also showed great interest in traditional Chinese medicinal herbs while preparing herbal tea bags. Their curiosity was so strong that many couldn’t resist secretly tasting the herbs as they learned about their uses.

The experience not only allowed students to explore the cultural layers of Zhongxing New Village but also helped them bond through shared activities, create fun memories, and gain a deeper appreciation for Taiwan’s local traditions.
