Students Craft Their Own Stories and Enhance Autobiographies with AI
To help students deepen their self-understanding and strengthen their career competitiveness, our institution hosted the Autobiography Workshop. The event guided participants in exploring their personal qualities using Strength Cards and applying guided storytelling techniques to create meaningful autobiographical narratives. AI-powered writing support was also introduced to elevate the clarity and impact of their final stories.
During the workshop, students first identified their top ten strengths based on their selected Strength Cards. From these, they chose one to three core strengths to serve as the foundation of their personal stories. With reflective prompts and group discussions, participants revisited real-life situations where they applied their strengths to overcome challenges or solve problems. This process not only enhanced their understanding of their own capabilities but also encouraged them to view their experiences from new perspectives and increase their self-awareness.
To further strengthen the structure and persuasiveness of their writing, the workshop incorporated AI writing tools. After drafting their personal stories, students used AI to refine their language—organizing story flow, highlighting key achievements, and enhancing emotional depth and persuasive power. This human–AI collaboration allowed students to preserve the authenticity of their personal experiences while presenting their narratives more clearly and professionally.
The Strength Cards helped the participants visualize their strengths in a more concrete way, and the guided storytelling approach transformed their autobiographies from simple descriptions into compelling personal brand stories. The Office of Global Affairs will continue offering career development programs to empower students to present their unique value with greater confidence as they pursue academic and professional goals.
