Floral Five-Senses Healing Experience at Tianwei Jing Fang Garden
On September 1, 2025, our university organized the Floral Five-Senses Healing Experience at Tianwei Jing Fang Garden, inviting students to immerse themselves in nature and discover the healing power of the five senses.
Upon arrival, students were invited to take off their shoes and walk barefoot on the earth. For many, this was the first time experiencing direct contact with nature in such a way. Guided by instructors, students joined hands to create a resonating hum, felt the flow of energy, and greeted the garden’s guardian camphor tree. They then stepped into a clear pond teeming with small fish and shrimp, feeling the refreshing coolness of the water while connecting with the bald cypress trees growing within.
From the arched bridge overlooking a lotus pond reminiscent of Monet’s paintings, students paused to admire the scene, with some lying down to be embraced by the tranquility of nature. At noon, they enjoyed a picnic lunch by the pond, nourished both in body and spirit by the serene surroundings. To conclude the day, each participant selected a plant to place in a patented water-offering vase, bringing a piece of the healing experience home.
