International Students Take Part in Taichung City’s Business District Aesthetic and Industry Promotion Program
On August 29, 2025, our university participated in the Taichung Business District Aesthetic Enhancement and Central District Industry Promotion Program organized by the Taichung City Government’s Economic Development Bureau. The program featured both morning and afternoon sessions, with 34 international students from our university engaging in activities that highlighted the cultural and industrial heritage of Taichung’s Central District.
The students began their visit at the Quan An Tang Taichung Sun Cake Museum, where a master baker demonstrated how to layer dough with pastry shortening to create the signature flaky crust of Taichung’s iconic sun cakes. While waiting for the pastries to bake, the group toured the historic Taichung Railway Station, learning about its century-old history and cultural significance. They also explored Miyahara Eye C, discovering its past during the Japanese colonial period and appreciating its beautifully renovated interior. To end the day, students strolled through Qingcao (Herb) Street, sampling traditional herbal tea and cherry blossom fruit tea, experiencing a unique blend of tradition and innovation.
This event not only enriched the students’ understanding of Taichung’s local culture and industries but also strengthened their connection with the community, offering a valuable opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and appreciation.
