Kyoto University CCII Delegation Visits CMU for Bilateral Symposium
On May 19, 2025, a delegation from the Center for Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunology (CCII) at Kyoto University visited China Medical University (CMU) and held a joint bilateral symposium. The event was opened by CMU President Dr. Mien-Chie Hung and featured an overview of the university by Dean Liang-Yo Yang of Global Affairs, followed by an introduction to the research focus of the Cancer Biology and Precision Therapeutics Center (CBPTC) by Director Shao-Chun Wang.
Three research presentations were delivered during the symposium:
1. Dr. Sidonia Fagarasan explored the biochemical dialogue mechanisms of immune cell-mediated anti-cancer responses.
2. Dr. Masaki Tajima presented research on CD8+ T cell metabolic stress and ferroptosis.
3. Dr. Baihao Zhang shared insights into the molecular mechanisms by which immunometabolites regulate T cell anti-tumor responses.
Each session was followed by engaging discussions, and the scholars from both universities exchanged in-depth ideas on cancer immunotherapy and metabolic regulation. The event laid a solid foundation for future collaboration and successfully advanced international academic cooperation between the two universities in the biomedical field.
