International Students Uncover Career Potential Through Self-Exploration Workshop

On May 16th, 2025, a career development workshop titled "Discover Your Career Strengths and Passion" was successfully held organized by the Office of Global Affairs and the Office of International Students Employment Counseling, attracting 10 international students from five different nationalities and various academic years. Through guided self-exploration activities, the participants gained deeper insights into their career direction.

The event began with Isaac Yang (a Malaysian alumni from Fu Jen Catholic University) sharing session, shedding light on the challenges and strategies for international students navigating life and career development in Taiwan. This was followed by card activities where students engaged in self-exploration using professional tools to identify their career direction. This provided the attendees with practical insights and actionable guidance for their future paths.

The workshop utilized the "Career Traveler Card" to help students identify their core personality traits among six major types and pinpoint potential career paths from a selection of 100 professions. Additionally, the "Competency Mapping Card" enabled participants to assess their strengths and shadow weaknesses, offering a clearer perspective on their skill sets.

One of the workshop’s highlights was the "Angel Card" session, where participants gained valuable feedback from peers, revealing hidden talents and unrecognized abilities. This segment not only fostered connection among students but also encouraged them to reframe their self-perception.

The workshop received positive feedback from participants, who expressed that the experience not only enhanced their self-awareness but also inspired concrete action plans for career development.
