The 5th CMU-NUS Joint Symposium
The 5th CMU-NUS Joint Symposium in 2023 was held for two days on September 11-12 at China Medical University. At the symposium, 16 scholars from CMU and 8 scholars from NUS presented their research in the fields of cancer, stem cells, 3D and biotechnology, neuroscience and traditional Chinese medicine. Academician Mien-Chie Hung, President of China Medical University, was invited to give a keynote speech on the topic of "Markers-Guided Effective Therapy", describing the latest developments and specific results of the current use of targeted drugs to treat cancer and the development of cancer targeted drugs.
Scholars from both universities proposed more than a dozen possible collaborations, including the development of new cancer drugs, novel drug delivery methods for cancer drugs, the expression trends of mRNA in cancer cells and their surrounding cells, cancer immunotherapy, consulting platform for traditional Chinese medicine, and the establishment of an animal model for evaluating andrographolides. These potential collaboration will be evaluated and being implemented in the future.
