Introduction
Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy was found in 28 March 1957. Before 1975, training scale of the College was small, just training over 200 doctors. Through 50 years of construction and development, specifically after 30 years since reunification of the nation, the College has been well-performing of its mission in training, scientific research, examining and treating medically as well as steering the primary health care service. During past 50 years, the College has trained over 9,000 Doctors, Pharmacist, and Bachelor as well as nearly 3,000 post-graduate students.
Up to now, the College consist 524 staffs including civil servant and labor contract. There are 259 lecturers, of which 48 MD,PhD; 121 MSc, 16 Doctors at Level Two Medical Specialization and 74 Master. Currently, the College has 18 Professors and Associate Professors, and 84 major lecturers. 100% of lecturers have been studied in foreign countries.
In term of Undergraduate training, the College is training 13 specialties, of which regular system has 6 specialties (General Doctors, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Medical Technology and Bachelor of Public Health; In-service training system has 7 specialties (General Doctors, Pharmacy, Bachelor of General Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery Nursing, Bachelor of Anesthetic Nursing, Bachelor of Medical Testing Technology and Bachelor of Medical Imaging Technology. Number of enrollment yearly is over 1,000 students, pushing the training scale of the College to over 3,800 students.
