Our University Signed an Agreement with National Taiwan Normal University

Our President, Prof. Jong-Tsun Huang, led Vice-Presidents, Prof. Trong-Neng Wu, and Prof. Ying-Shiung Lee and Vice-Chairman of Office of Academic Affairs Prof. Cheng-Wen Lin to National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and signed an academic collaboration agreement on 4th of Aug 2009. NTNU comprises of six colleges, and is well-known for its humanities, a few of which even rank top 10 in Taiwan.

After the signing ceremony, the President of NTNU, Prof. Yih-Shun Gou took our delegation to visit Mandarin Training Center (MTC). The Director of MTC, Prof. Chung-Tien Chou, introduced the history, mission and goal of the center. MTC was established in 1956. Up to date, more than forty thousand students around the world have graduated from MTC, including, Ryutaro Hashimoto, Kevin Rudd and Prof. David L. McMullen. The Director of MTC expressed that MTC could be one of the sources to recruit foreign students for CMU. Thus, our delegations were delighted and hoped that CMU will have opportunities to co-organize academic programs with NTNU, such as teacher training, library collaboration and foreign student recruitment. This will not only increase our staffs’ qualities, but also provide a better learning environment for our students.
