Introduction

THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA was founded in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast on the recommendation of the Asquith Commission, on Higher Education in the then British colonies. With a current student population of about 29754 (representing male/female ratio of about 2:1) the University of Ghana is the oldest and largest of the six public Universities in Ghana. Colleges: College of Health Sciences Medical School Dental School School of Allied Health Sciences School of Public Health Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research School of Nursing College of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences School of Agriculture Agricultural Research Center Faculties: Arts, Law, Science, Social Studies, Business School, and Engineering Sciences
